I was about 9 years old, when I first went there and I had already fallen completely in love with this area. Over the past years, I visited almost every corner of the lake and can say with a clear conscience that the lake has something to offer for every taste, regardless of whether you are an active or a more relaxed holidaymaker.
I can recommend the Northern part of the lake to all those who want some action during their holiday and like to do sports. Whether climbing, canyoning, windsurfing or mountain biking, the north of Lake Garda offers optimal conditions for all these sports, which can also be practiced almost all year round.
The Southern part of Lake Garda shows a completely different face. Here the hills become flatter, the lake much wider and the climate even more Mediterranean. Bardolino, Lazise & Sirmione are certainly among the best-known towns in the south. All these places enchant with a historic center with narrow streets and charming Italian shops.
Furthermore, the south of Lake Garda also offers a lot of action for the young at heart with theme/leisure parks such as Movieworld, Canevaworld and the most famous one called Gardaland.
Due to the proximity of Lake Garda to the larger cities such as Verona (30 minutes) or Bergamo (1.30 hours), bad weather days can also easily be bridged.
Something also many don't know is, that in fact, with the Art Club Disco & Spa Center Splash Club, Lake Garda also has something for the gay crowd. In the following list, I would like to show you some of my absolute highlights of this destination.
My favorite places:
Lazise
Bardolino
Limone
Sirmione
Garda
My favorite restaurants, bars:
Il Cordonega, Lazise
Caffè Beccherie, Lazise
Il ristorante Gemma, Limone sul Garda
Lido Mirabello Beach, Bardolino
Sightseeingthings to do:
Citytrip to Verona
Terme di Colà
Gardaland & Canevaworld
Bicycle trip along the lake
Guys, the lists could go on and on at this point, but I don't want to overload you with information, because as we know, the best thing is to get an idea of something for yourself.
