Do you know the small island Elba in Tuscany?
I was travelling there with my fiancé for one week and we were totally in love with this small Italian island.
The trip started with a ferry ride from Piombino (the tickets can be booked online or directly on spot) and took about one hour to Portoferraio the capital of the island.
Arrived in Portoferraio we drove to our apartment in the cute medieval town of Capoliveri.
Me and my future husband were traveling & visiting the whole island during our stay and will tell you in this blog about our favorite places during the stay.
The most favorite beaches of us, were:
-Secchetto beach: incredible crystal clear water, sandy beach, nice beach bar
-Spiaggia Cavoli: probably one of the most crowded beaches in high season but very beautiful, crystal clear water and a beach bar as well
-Spiaggia Acquarilli: the beach consists of black sand and pebbles and is divided into two parts by a line of rocks, is exposed to southern winds, and the part on the right is perfect for nudists
Above Acquarilli beach you will find a super cute "beach bar" which is more kiosk with an incredible sea view.
Beside the beautiful beaches, we were falling in love with the romantic cities like Portoferraio and Marciana Marina. Our absolutely most favorite restaurant was "Il Vecchio Borgo" in Capoliveri. The restaurant offers a huge variety of typical Italian dishes and the service was just excellent.
On Elba Island everything is a little bit smaller, slower and more familiar than on other mediterranean islands.
An island which still has a lot of nature, culture and extremly friendly people living there.
For us, thess were certainly not the last holidays on the island.
